What I See in Local Websites
I have browsed the web looking at many websites for Penn Yan and Yates County area businesses and organizations. I notice many sites that are, simply put: not pretty. I notice some that look nice, but whose underlying code and marketing methods are inappropriate for current web practices.
What This Means to You
Designing and developing websites is about conveying a message; displaying current, up-to-date, and clear content; and facilitating functionality for the client and user. When these elements come together in a great design package, you have yourself an effective element of your business's marketing plan.
What This Means to Me
I have found that designing websites is both fun and challenging. I could share with you the complexity and enormous quantity of scripting capabilities, XHTML, Cascading Style Sheets, and Search Engine Optimization. But my philosophy is one word only: Simplicity. The intricate world of the web is dense with codes and jargon that the common business owner may not want, need, or have the time to learn. Nevertheless, the same business owner may wish to be engaged in the development and continual updating of their website. This doesn’t mean that your site won’t be imaginative, creative, or lacking in modern web practices. This means that the process by which your site is created and updated will be a simple one.
